Welcome to Bankan (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. Bankan operates as a “zero-knowledge” productivity tool, meaning the core data you create (your Kanban boards, tasks, and attachments) is stored directly on your personal Google Drive, not on our servers. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data.

2. Google API Services User Data Policy (Limited Use)

Bankan’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. What Google Data We Access and Why

To provide our service, we request access to your Google account using specific, limited permissions (scopes):

• Google Profile & Email: Used strictly to create your account, authenticate your login, and communicate important account updates.
• Google Drive API (drive.file scope): We use this non-restricted scope to create, read, update, and delete only the specific files and folders that Bankan creates within your Google Drive.
  • Why we need it: Bankan does not host your board data. We use this access to save your Kanban boards and attachments directly to your Drive so you maintain complete ownership of your data.
  • What we cannot do: We cannot see, read, or modify any other personal files, photos, or documents in your Google Drive.

4. Data Sharing and Selling (We Don’t Do It)

We fiercely protect your privacy. We do not and will never sell your personal data, Google user data, or usage data to third parties. We only share basic information with essential service providers (like Stripe for processing payments) solely to operate our service.

5. Other Data We Collect

• Account Metadata: We store your email address, subscription plan status, and collaboration mappings (who you have invited to your boards) in our secure, centralized database to ensure our software functions correctly.
• Payment Information: If you purchase a paid plan, your payment is processed directly by Stripe. Bankan does not store your credit card details.

6. Data Deletion and Revoking Access

You own your data. You can delete your Bankan account at any time. Because your Kanban boards are stored in your Google Drive, you retain access to those files even if you leave Bankan. You can revoke Bankan’s access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account Security settings.
